We will need to get a good count on how many students that will be attending by parent/guardian by TUESDAY, DECEMBER 7, 2022. PLEASE CALL THE OFFICE AND LET US KNOW HOW MANY WILL BE ATTENDING. WE WILL PAY FOR ONE ADULT PER FAMILY TO ATTEND. ADULT WILL HAVE TO BE OVER 18 YEARS OF AGE TO BE CONSIDER AN ADULT TO CHAPERONE CHILD/CHILDREN. ONLY SAC AND FOX STUDENTS WILL BE ELIGIBLE TO ATTEND. IF YOU HAVE OTHER CHILDREN IN YOUR FAMILY THAT ARE NOT SAC AND FOX TRIBAL MEMBERS, THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND. THIS IS A SPECIAL SHOWING ON DECEMBER 10, ONLY FOR SAC AND FOX STUDENTS PRE-K THROUGH 12TH GRADE STUDENTS. THERE WILL BE NO EMPLOYEE FROM THE MOVIE THEATER AT THE BOX OFFICE TO TAKE MONEY FOR ADMISSION. EACH CHILD AND ADULT WILL RECEIVE A FREE POPCORN AND DRINK, BUT THE CONCESSION STAND WILL BE AVAILABLE AS WELL WITH FULL PRICES.

Special Petitioned Governing Council Meeting on October 15, 2022.
Confirmation was received that the Sovereignty Runners will stop at the Sac & Fox Nation tomorrow, October 4th, at approximately 6pm enroute to Sacaramento, CA. They will stay in Stroud and return to the Tribal Complex on Wednesday morning, October 5th, to resume their route to California.
This Sovereignty Run will be led by Fawn Sharp, the National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) President and Vice-President of the Quinault Indian Nation, and will include participants from Tribal Nations, Native organizations, and other partners.

(Stroud, Oklahoma) – The Sac and Fox Nation Business Committee has received notice of the resignation of Principal Chief Don Abney, effective on September, 30, 2022.
“Don Abney has served the Sac and Fox Nation in various capacities for more than thirty-seven years” said Second Chief Angela Gasper. “On behalf of the Business Committee, I want to thank Don for his service and longstanding commitment to the Sac and Fox Nation. We wish him well.”
The Business Committee will consider next steps to address the vacancy. Details will be forthcoming.
Attached is the FY2023 LIHEAP Model Plan and Public Comment form for the Nation. We are required to obtain Public Input every year in regards to the model plan. The Model Plan is being submitted, September 6th. The Public input still needs to be obtained. Once the Public Comment period has passed, we will update the Submitted Model Plan with any information obtained from the comment period per Ms. Kate Thomas, our LIHEAP Federal Liaison.
The Sac and Fox Nation Annual Governing Council meeting is scheduled for Saturday August 27, 2022 at the hour of 10 a.m. at the SFN Community Building located in the Jim Thorpe Memorial Park.

Plan to attend the upcoming Tribal Education Roundtable with Oklahoma State Superintendent Candidate, April Grace. The Tribal Education Roundtable will be held at the Absentee Shawnee Tribe Multi Purpose Building, 2029 James L. Edwards Lane, Shawnee, Oklahoma on August 16, 2022 at 10:00 am. The discussion will be on tribal education related issues. April Grace and Ryan Walters are Republican candidates for the Oklahoma State Superintendent Office and will be in the runoff election on August 23, 2022. All Tribal Education Departments are encourage to attend and will have the opportunity to ask questions as well as participate in meaningful dialogue and discussion. We are giving out free Wi-Fi hotspots to all tribal members with costs covered for a year!
Below are the links to download the application forms. If you are 18 or older, please fill out the General Hot-Spot Application. Tribal members can submit the application in person to the IT Department located in the Sac and Fox Nation Learning Center or, email your application along with your mailing address and CBID card to firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you are under 18, please have a parent complete the Education Hot-Spot Application and turn it into the Education Department also located in the Learning Center.
All Wi-Fi hotspots will be activated August 1st, 2022!
