SAC AND FOX NATION GAMING COMMISSION

Welcome to the Sac and Fox Nation Gaming Commission section dedicated to keeping the Nation and other governmental agencies informed of what we are about.

In 2003, the General Council of the Sac and Fox Nation created the Gaming Commission which is made up of three Gaming Commissioners.

We are a regulatory agency.  The Sac and Fox Nation Gaming Ordinance entrusts us with the responsibility and authority to regulate all gaming in the Tribal Jurisdiction.  We meet monthly on the first Tuesday of each month for regular meetings and hold special meetings as needed throughout the year.  These meetings are open to the public.

STAFF

We meet our mission of “Protecting the Public by Ensuring that Gaming is Legal and Honest” through a number of means.  Gaming Commission staff do everything from criminal background checks to on-site “spot” checks to in-depth records review.  Gaming Commission staff actively monitor all manner of gaming, monitor casino employees and patrons, and also investigate crimes such as theft, cheating and scamming.

All of these duties are performed to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, to ensure gaming is conducted fairly, and to protect the assets of the Nation.

NIGC AND TRIBAL-STATE GAMING COMPACT

In addition to the Tribal laws affecting gaming, numerous Federal and State laws require many reports and compliance issues be addressed by the Tribal Gaming Commission.  We provide on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis reports on the employees, machines, and audited financials to the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) and the State of Oklahoma.  We are currently compliant in all areas with the NIGC and the Tribal-State Compact.
