Program Information

The Sac and Fox Nation Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (SFN-FDPIR), continues to be administered on behalf of and within the jurisdictions of the defined reservation boundaries of the Sac and Fox Nation, the Absentee Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma, the Citizen Potawatomie Nation, the Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma, and the Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma. Our main program is located 5.5 miles south of Stroud, OK at the Sac and Fox Nation Tribal Headquarters. In 2008, a second Facility was added to our operations which is established 2.5 miles north of Shawnee, OK to serve participants in our southern service area. The program participants, served by SFN-FDPIR, represent approximately 60 different federally recognized tribes. Below are a few resources for food and health:

Monthly Activity

USDA Foods are distributed each month at the main Stroud Food and Nutrition Center, the Shawnee Food and Nutrition Center, the Little Axe Tailgate Site, the Perkins Tailgate Site, and by Home Delivery. SFN-FDPIR is open for food distribution at both our Shawnee and Stroud locations Monday thru Friday, approximately 20 weekdays per month. One day a month, we are open late (until 8 pm) for households that are unable to pick up their commodities during normal business hours at both our Stroud and Shawnee locations. Our Stroud staff is currently operating both the Little Axe Tailgate Site once a month utilizing the Absentee Shawnee Tribe’s Little Axe Resource Center and the Perkins Tailgate Site utilizing the Iowa Tribe’s Bah-Kho-Je Chena Building. Three days each month, we complete approximately 35 home deliveries to elderly, disabled, and homebound households using our Stroud and Shawnee program vehicles. We are closed for distribution activity the last 2 weekdays of each month at both locations to compete USDA/FNS required physical inventory reconciliation, FNS-152 inventory/participation reporting, store restocking, certification expiration notice mail-outs, and file rotations.
